Alhambra of Granada

¡Buenas!

Life is not just working after all! Last weekend, I went to Granada. It is about 1,5 hours by bus from Málaga. The cities most known tourist attraction is a fortress called Alhambra. It is definetely one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Málaga's fortress and castle Alcazaba and Gibralfaro don't even get close to Alhambra. Here are a few pics:











Perfect place to have a picnic and learn more about history. The city of Granada itself is also very beautiful. There's a lot of nice restaurants, parks, pubs, and cafés. One thing that surprised me the most was that there are these mountains, which on top you could see snow! I totally recommend that place to visit. You will not get disappointed.



P.S: If you plan to visit Alhambra buy the tickets at least 2 weeks before. They are usually sold out, so gotta be quick! + if you like books, right in the bus station you can find a guy selling all kind of classics in English and Spanish for 3 to 5 euros only! I bought a book that is half in Spanish half in English, so I can learn as much Spanish as possible before I go back to Finland.

!Hola! This is a late post about Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Málaga. As you may already know Easter was celebrated this year from March 25th until April 1st. In Málaga Easter or Semana Santa is one of the most celebrated events of the year! Many tourists come from other parts of Spain or other countries to see it. The celebration, as far as I know, consists on parades that many schools, organizations participate. There are hundreds of volunteers and tuns of ''Tronos'' (processions), each representing the last days of Jesus Christ until his ressurection. My work at Living4malaga

¡Hola! Once again a late post, but for you that want to know more about my work placement, will be an enlighting one. To begin with, I am an intern at an office in the main street of Málaga. There, me and another intern from the same institution, do all kinds of tasks. We usually start our day printing out all contracts and ''arrival timetable'' for the next day. Then the rest of the day is either at the office putting all infos from the check-ins that our colleagues gathered to the system or we visit different apartments around the city and welcome guests. Before we could do the check-ins without supervision, we just accompanied our colleagues to the apartments to learn as much as possible. Well, last week I did my first check-in, which means, I went through the contract with clients and showed them the apartment they will be staying for a few days. Barcelona? Yes, Barcelona.

¿ Qué tal? or should I say  Que tal estàs? Last weekend I went to Barcelona! It was one of my Top 15 ''to visit'' places of my bucket list and now it's finally checked . It is definitely one of my favorite places in Spain. Barcelona looks like a whole different country in Spain due to its two official languages Catalan and Spanish. I didn´t know but Catalan is very present in the society. All bus stops, addresses, most of advertisments, name of shops are in Catalan. It felt like I was in a totally different country! That came to me by surprise and I think it is a very interesting fact. Everybody does speak Spanish there but all the rest is in Catalan.
