Alhambra of Granada

Life is not just working after all! Last weekend I went to Granada. It is about 1,5 hours by bus from Málaga. The cities most known tourist attraction is a fortress called Alhambra. It is definetely one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Málaga's fortress and castle Alcazaba and Gibralfaro don't even get close to Alhambra. Here are a few pics:











Perfect place to have a picnic and learn more about history. The city of Granada itself is also very beautiful. There a lot of nice restaurants, parks, pubs and cafés. One thing that surprised me the most was that there are these mountains which on top you could see snow! I totally recommend that place to visit. You will not get disappointed.



P.S: If you plan to visit Alhambra buy the tickets at least 2 weeks before. They are usually sold out so gotta be quick! + if you like books right in the bus station you can find a guy selling all kind of classics in English and Spanish for 3 to 5 euros only! I bought a book that is half in Spanish half in English so I can learn as much Spanish as possible before I go back to Finland.

¿ Qué tal? So far I've done quite a few check ins, so I've experienced all kind of problems and situations with guests. Sometimes happens to not get the door opened so I have to call for somebody's help, forget the pen so the guests can't sign the contract or forget to tell some information that might be important like what to do during the checkout (which is just leave the keys of the apartment on the table and close the door). My first week in Málaga

  ¡ Buenas! Today is my 8th day in Málaga and 1 week of work is done already! I'm an intern at Living4Malaga and I will be working there for 2 months. In case you are not familiar with the company, it is a sort of inbound agency that rents luxury apartments for tourists in the best locations of Málaga and Madrid. They also offer other services such as parking, excursions, transport etc. My first days in Málaga (before I started working) I explored the city and its tourist attractions so in case a client asked me what to do in the city, I would know what to recommend. On the second day I went to Málaga Cathedral: The entrance is 6€ and there is even the possibility to go to the roof of the cathedral for 4€ (opens a few times a day and be there on time when it does!) On the third day I went to La Alcazaba, El teatro romano and El castillo de Gibralfaro and walked like crazy to the top of the hill! But it was worth it 'cause the view from there is beautiful...

¡Buenas! This weeks post is more informational about my days of work, free days and for last some tips for you. To begin with, I live in a Airbnb with other three women (1 is rarely home) about 20 min walking from downtown (and my office). So far so good. Almost everyday I go to work at 10 am and leave at 18 pm. Usually shops, boutiques, museums open at 10 am. In addition, I've heard that it's common to have TWO breakfasts a day! So that is why, I believe, people  in Spain  have their dinner and go to bed  so late. My hosts, for example, eat dinner normally at 21 pm or 22 pm. And lunch is from 13 pm to 16 pm.  Talking about food, I have to recommend this well-known café in Málaga called La Canasta. The salad I ordered is ceaser chicken salad and ginger/orange/carrot juice. Yummy.  For me these eating habits are a bit difficult to get used to, because after all in my home country, Finland, we tend to have our lunch and dinner many hours earlie...
